Needing Nothing Attracts Everything
Nov 02, 2026
Needing nothing attracts everything.
When you and I don't need it to happen, more things come our way.
One Prospect Is a Trap
When your whole month rides on a single prospect, that one deal becomes a referendum on your career. If it falls through, it crushes you, and it hurts your volume for months after.
Prospects feel that weight too. The more pressure you put on a deal, the more anxious you sound on the call, and anxious doesn't close.
Carry Ten, Not One
Think about the best salesperson at your company. Odds are, they're laid back. They ask a few questions, build rapport, and let the conversation breathe. From the outside, it looks lazy: no pushing, no urgency.
That patience is the job. They don't need the deal, so the customer never feels chased. Customers relax around people who aren't anxious, and comfortable customers buy.
That's what a full pipeline buys you. Instead of one prospect, carry ten real conversations, ten live opportunities, so losing any single one never touches your floor. When you know deep down that one no won't sink you, your energy changes on every call.
You don't win the deal by needing it. You win it by not needing it at all.
